Savage Scroll I’ve lived in Indiana my whole life, but I don’t know if I’ve ever experienced a
winter like this one. With not much snow, so much rain and warm Spring like days. I hope
you all have been able to get out and enjoy this weather. I know many of you have already
been out running races already.
What fun races have you done? What are your goals for this year? I hope to continue to improve my 5k time and maybe start
walking farther distances this year. I’d like to do more hiking this year. We will be going to Spring Mill State Park this summer and I’m look-
ing forward to exploring all that they have to offer in that park. I’d also like to get out and hike nearby Kokomo.
I want to congratulate all the winners from the Banquet on the 25th. It was so great to see so many of you. It’s always great to be
around my CKRR friends, I really do miss our fellowship during the winter months.
Please remember to keep those club members who are facing health issues in your prayers. We have many who have had surger-
ies and going through recovery mode right now.
I hope to see you around town and at the upcoming races.
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has
promised to those who love him. James 1:12
CK Group Long Run— Each Sunday, David Bruce or-
ganizes a run (walkers welcome too) as they are building on the distance. The last run, the group met at BMO Harris Bank parking lot at the corner
of Jackson and Buckeye at 1pm for
a 8 mile or so run through Foster Park, Highland Park, back downtown on the Industrial Heritage Trail. After run they got together at one of the restaurants in the downtown area. Of course if you would like to run or walk a shorter distance, you can loop around Foster Park or run one of their past 6 or 7 mile loops. We would like for everyone to come out to join us. Time it so you are finishing up around 2:30 so you can partake in the after run get together. Good times!! Run On!! - - please follow our Facebook page for updates and details

We had some members who traveled to Ft Myers, FL and participated in the Edison Festival of Lights 5K on February 18th. The weather was
great although there was a light rain for most of the race. The temperature was in the 70's and very humid! What else would we expect
from that part of Florida! The overall winner was Charles Mathenge from Ft. Myers in 14:47. The first female was Bridget Lyons from Atlan-
ta, Ga. in 16:19. From the 989 finishers—here are some finishing from Indiana.

Anita Dillman, Sherry Kestle and Debby Berkshire competed in the Fat Ass Challenge around Lake Mingo in Kennecuck Park in Danville Illi-
nois. They finished two full laps for a total of 17.4 miles. Very rugged, hilly, muddy and wet trail. Time of 6 hr. 20 minutes including one water
and bathroom break.
