-“Electronic Mail”-Email is a method of exchanging digital messages from an author to one or more recipients -Contains 3 components Message Envelope, Message Header, and Message body-Needs Internet Connection

Email

Wiki-Wiki is usually a web application which allows people to add, modify, or delete content in collaboration with others

-”Ward Cunningham” inventor of the wiki-originally described it as “the simplest online database that could possibly work”

Social Bookmarking

-Social Bookmarking is a centralized online service which enables users to add, annotate, edit and share bookmarks of web documents-Tagging a feature of social bookmarking systems

HTML

-HTML stands for “Hyper Text Markup Language”-Main markup language for creating web pages and other information that can be displayed in a web browser

Podcast-Podcast / Netcast-Consist of audio, video, PDF or ePub files- As audio podcasts are often listened to on portable media players

VoIP-VoIP stands for “Voice over Internet Protocol”-People use the internet as transmission medium for telephone calls by sending voice data in packets using IP

Online Chat-Any kind of communication over the internet that offers a real time transmission of text messages from sender to receiver.

WWW-WWW stands for “ World Wide Web”-Supports links to other documents- Formatted through HTML

Streaming-A multimedia that is constantly received by and presented to an end user.

Blog-A web site on which someone writes about personal opinions and experiences-Journals, reflections and comments

Social Networking

-A social made up of set of social actors and a set of the dyadic ties between actors-Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo and others

URL-URL stands for “Uniform Resource Locator”-A unique address for a file on the internet

Web Feed

-data format used in updated content-referred as syndicated feed
