A writer’s work is often influenced by popular culture in the world around them.

Consider these two ideas as we journey through book club together this year.

Slang--words we used with friends“The Bomb”= Means: Excellent. Example: That taco I ate last night was so tasty--it was the Bomb!!!

“My Bad!” = Means: My mistake. Example: Sorry I ate your taco, Tommy--my bad!

“Not!” = Means: The opposite meaning of the words before it. Example: Sorry I ate your taco, Tommy--NOT!!!

“Oh snap!” = Means: Oh yeah, that’s right. Example: I just ate all the tacos in the box and there’s nothing you can do about it, Tommy! Oh snap!

“Wicked” = Means: A lot or very. Example: Those tacos tasted wicked good!
