overview effect
Overview Effect is a breath-taking outdoor spectacle that celebrates the ambition and technical achievement of the 1969 moon landing. From the surface of the moon, we share the view of the Apollo 11 astronauts, and understand their shift in understanding about the fragility of the planet we call home. Overview Effect is a psychedelic and atmospheric outdoor projection set to a stunning original soundtrack. It asks us to celebrate what the human race is capable of achieving, and consider the cost of the problems we choose to ignore.
Sock-it to the Moon
12th Oct - location: LCB Depot 12-4pm
Time to get creative! Make your own sock puppet alien before taking it to the moon using green screen technology. In this free drop-in workshop, children can get creative making sock puppet aliens and recycled junk robots. Acted out against a green screen, they will then create moon and space stories as their characters explore digital scenes from MBD's new space themed projection show, Overview Effect. The resulting films will be live streamed to screens in the workshop space and Grays cafe.Age 5+
