possible situation in present or future.

Jack wants to buy a house now but he can’t, because he doesn’t have any money.

If I had a lot of money,

I would buy a big house.

Conditional Type 2:

Susan wants to phone Paul now but she can’t, because she doesn’t know his number.

If I knew his number,

I would phone him.

Conditional Type 2:

If I had a lot of money, I would buy a big house.

If I knew his number, I would phone him.

Now let’s answer these questions:

Present wish:

Jack wishes he had a lot of money.

Susan wishes she knew Paul’s number.
