independent regions worldwide under the direction of a global IT purchasing and supply chain division. Recruited
a 10-person team of architects located in North America, Europe, and Asia. Helped team resolve issues related to
intricate multi-vendor, multi-domain facets of key initiatives.
Developed new reference architectures and technology patterns in support of BPEL, EAI, ETL, SOA Suite
Components (UDDI, ESB), rules engine, and integration software alternatives as team leader.
Executed design reviews using established systems. Noted strategies to raise scalability, reliability, and
performance.
Pioneered a continuous process improvement mechanism to cull and capitalize on 25 post-project lessons
related to software development lifecycle activities and compliance.
Implemented an architectural governance process to support alignment of application development efforts
with newly established architecture standards and guidelines and lead the team in the evaluation of over 60
(sixty) new development efforts each year.

transition to an organization infrastructure suitable for integrated n-tier/mainframe development.
Lead a team of architects and developers on mid-tier and mainframe architecture.
Mentored staff in development of integrated, n-tier/mainframe project plans and development of
high-throughput application systems.
Overhauled MQ-Series access to mainframe persistent data stores, innovating new messaging
elements and retooling MQ Series queues to strengthen performance. Skyrocketed performance
from just over 50 to 1K transactions per second.
Evaluated existing development processes and infrastructure and instituted a series of changes that
included conversion of a non o-o proprietary framework to a lightweight reusable service model,
introduction of third party authorization and rules engines to improve business responsiveness and

VARIOUS COMPANIES pre-2001 Strategic Planning, Application Development, Database Administration
A small summary of accomplishments while working for various companies in Montreal and Toronto Canada.
For a manufacturer of pharmaceutical software I was responsible for the design, development, and support
of e-commerce and client-server applications to support a new service that provided drug related
information (ex: drug interactions) across a comprehensive base of prescription and cross counter
medications. The client-server application was the first mobility application to utilize an Internet based
server to provide data services.
As the infrastructure delivery lead I evaluated, selected, and delivered the infrastructure to support the first
three years of operations of a new backend application that would sell products utilizing the bank’s ATM
machines.
Working for a manufacturer of software utilities I was responsible for converting a tightly coupled MVS-
Tandem high speed transfer utility to a loosely coupled modularized product that included new modules for
the DEC-VAX, HP-UX, AS/400, and PC platforms.
As the systems planning manager I introduced a new strategic planning methodology that was used to
identify five years of I.S. development projects. Initiated over 20 projects representing $7 million in
development effort and recovering over $5 million in annual savings.
As the database administration manager I lead a team in the implementation of a new DBA group that
included the development of database design and tuning guidelines, change control processes, chargeback
mechanisms, as well as the development and support of 14 large production databases.
