Introduction

Oracle Enterprise Repository provides plug in for Ant task for harvesting assets from JDeveloper. OER

also provides Solution Pack for harvesting SOA components via Ant. With the Ant plug in and connection

to the OER via the adapter, assets can be entered into OER right from the JDeveloper.

This document outlines the steps involved in installing and configuring plug in for Ant and Harvester

Solution Pack, and the process of harvesting assets into OER from JDeveloper.

Installing OER Harvester Ant Task for JDeveloper

Installation Steps

Check for updates in JDeveloper under Help > Check for Updates…

View the details of the OER Harvester update

Select the OER Harvester tool to download and install

Post-installation Steps

Restart the JDeveloper after installing the OER Harvester. The download creates

<jdeveloper_home>/harvester folder.

Edit tools11g.xml to match the JDeveloper installation. Replace every occurrence of

"C:/oracle/middleware/jdev_5361/jdeveloper" with the location of the JDeveloper installation.

Merge the contents of <jdeveloper_home>/harvester/tools11g.xml to JDeveloper's product

preferences XML file located in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application

Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.xxxxxx\o.jdeveloper\product-preferences.xml on Windows XP.

Configuring Harvester Ant Task in JDeveloper

Configure <jdeveloper_home>/harvester/HarvesterSettings.xml

Enter the connection details for OER (url, user name, password). Password needs to be encrypted by

running the encrypt.bat utility.

Edit HarvesterSettings.xml

Run encrypt.bat

Verify encrypted password

Import the OER Harvester Solution Pack (11.1.1.3.0-OER-Harvester-Solution-Pack.zip) into Repository.

The Harvester Solution Pack is available at <ofm_home>\oer_111130\core\tools\solutions\11.1.1.3.0-

OER-Harvester-Solution-Pack.zip

In the OER Console under Admin role, go to Admin tab, and select Import/Export Client. This opens a

Java Import / Export Utility.

Verify the import status.

Harvesting from JDeveloper

Login into OER, and open Asset Editor to view the harvested assets
