As the only flamenco preparatory school in the country, the Conservatory of Flamenco Arts provides its students with skills
to thrive in the global context of flamenco with a 12-level curriculum encompassing training, professional development
and community engagement. By welcoming seasoned and novice flamenco students of any age from all over the country, the Conservatory aims to educate individuals and families in
the study of flamenco music and dance, all while instilling values of hard work and perseverance; values that benefit them
throughout every aspect of their lives.
The National Institute of Flamenco is a non-profit organization that works hard to ensure access to study at the Conservatory.
By building community partnerships, the Institute is able to subsidize tuition and provide yearly scholarship opportunities. The high professional standards set by the Encinias family and
their firm nurturing approach to education have positively impacted many lives and created a close-knit, synergistic
community dedicated to arts education and flamenco study.
Eva Encinias-Sandoval and her children, Joaquin and Marisol Encinias, are committed to educating families about flamenco.
Eva’s mother, Clarita Garcia de Aranda instilled a love for flamenco and a penchant for hard work in her family. With
these values, the Encinias family has established themselves as educators and artists in the community by founding the
Institute, the largest Flamenco Festival outside of Spain, the only accredited flamenco program in the world at the
University of New Mexico, a 6th-12th grade charter school, and three performance companies—all with the mission of
preserving and promoting flamenco.
