15Air bag System

■ Siemens (SMART) Air bag

- New smart siemens air bag system is installed

in Sorento. It consists of DAB(60ℓ), PAB(150ℓ),

tow seat belt pretensioner, and tow FIS(Front

Impact Sensor)

- The ACU which includes a impact sensor

monitors all affiliated system devices by 400mS

frequency.

- Also according to the crash condition, ACU

controls the threshold speed of each air bag.

16Air-con System

- There are two types of air-con. One is

manual air-con, the other is FATC.

- Sub-cool condenser is adapted to

improve cooling efficiency.

- In case of FATC, it is possible for owner

to diagnose A/C trouble using the A/C

switch and mode switch.

- FATC has a AQS(Air Quality Sensor) in

order to prevent pollution gas from the

outdoor.

17ETACS

■ ETACS : Electronic Time Alarm Control System

ETACS controls following items ;

- Washer related wiper

- Variable INT wiper

- Seat belt warning

- Ignition key hall illumination lamp control

※ Especially receiver of keyless entry sys.

is incorporated by ETACS.

- While wiper switch is in the INT position, wiper operating speed is changed

according to the amount of rain.

- Current rain is detected by rain sensor and calculated.

- Rain sensor communicates with the wiper control module to control the

wiper motor speed.
