WHAT IS COPYRIGHT?

The Copyright Law goes right away into effect as soon as the author register his brand or work

Copyright belongs to the author

When athlete create a name for it self for example Johnny Manziel he register his nick name as “Johnny Football” he owns the copyright

Copyright Duration?

As a general rule, for works created after January 1, 1978, copyright protection lasts for the life of the author plus an additional 70 years

Fair Use What is Fair Use? In its most general sense, a fair use is any copying of “copyrighted material done

for a limited and “transformative” purpose, such as to comment upon, criticize, or parody a copyrighted work. Such uses can be done without permission from the copyright owner. In other words, fair use is a defense against a claim of copyright infringement. If your use qualifies as a fair use, then it would not be considered an illegal infringement” (Stim,2013)

book review and quoting a medical article in a news report Parody:Parody requires usage of the initial source material
