and training with an emphasis on microbial containment and
psychological certainty.

TARGET GROUP
The scope of this unit standard is for any person who works in
pharmaceutical, food and beverage manufacturing, retail,
laboratories, food service establishments, hospitals and
medical facilities or any facility where the control of micro-
organisms is required.
Delegates must have a speaking and listening ability equal to an
ABET Level 1 Com 101 standard or any other communication
skills that will enable them to gain the knowledge and skills
required by this unit standard.
It is suitable for delegates who already work as cleaning staff
or will be involved in or working within high-risk cleaning
services to effectively sanitise work environments.

Programme Structure:

Qualification Purpose:
Capacitate delegates who already work as cleaning staff or will be involved in or working within a high-risk cleaning services environment, to effectively sanitise work environments. It will accredit delegates to be able to control the unwanted spread of micro-organisms and identify the microbiological sensitive areas in the workplace.
Qualification Target Group:
The scope of this unit standard is for any person who works in pharmaceutical, food and beverage manufacturing, retail, laboratories, food service establishments, hospitals and medical facilities or any facility where the control of micro-organisms is required. It is suitable for delegates who already work as cleaning staff or will be involved in or working within high-risk cleaning services environments to effectively sanitise work environments.
Minimum Entry Requirements:
Delegates must have a speaking and listening ability equal to an ABET Level 1 Com 101 standard and/or any other communication skills that will enable him/her to confirm the knowledge and skills required by this unit standard.
Workplace Requirements:
Access to environments for cleaning Access to equipment (PPE and sanitisation products and materials) Access to a computer with data (Virtual Delivery) An allocated workplace supervisor
Qualification Outcomes:
On completion of this qualification the delegate would be able to: • Control the unwanted spread of micro-organisms. • Identify the microbiological sensitive areas in the workplace. • Assess preparedness and respond with an emphasis on microbial containment and
psychological surety.
