TRANSCRIPT

Inspiration to design for - Women. You can't define them, can't ignore them. Each one of them is uniquely stylish in their own way. My women is someone who is confident, independent and bold. Who better to design for than the gorgeous First Lady,Michelle Obama.

The following slides explain the lifestyle referring to the minute details such as the silhouettes she would carry, the colours, various textures, along with details of the kind of jewellery, silhouettes, bags, hairstyle, make-up.

Silhouettes – Boat neck, straight / shift pattern, Knee length dresses those can be carried from day to evening, from corporate to dinner tables.

Colour – Will have varied colour palette, from nude, whites, to mustard & deep violet.

Each design in the following slides is self designed and constructed under my own label, “WALNUT”. All textures, prints, patterns, embroideries are original.

Every image carries the details. Thank you

TEXTURES

Horizontal pin tucks on silk, creating design pattern with organza insert, boat neck, straight fit knee length dress

White colour used with a sheer organza

Silk straight fit boat neck dress in champagne colour.

The solid black vertical insert, designed to add a illusion of height. Can be teamed with high heels or ballerinas, would look equallyelegant.

Indian raw / slub silk dress in monochromatic colours along with block screen print insert.

The touch neck dress with rounded shoulders make it an apt choice for a corporate dress for our fashion smart woman.

Monochromatic colourscombined with embroideryto add an element of design pattern.

XX pattern (left) &wizard pattern (right) are created using thread embroidery.

The unique originaltexture achieved with thin cords, combined with ombre dyeing techniquemakes it every bit glamorous for our woman who likes to experiment with patterns & textureskeeping the silhouettes classic.

The origami hand done texture in a solid black or a digital print made in a texture off-shoulder dress makes my woman every bit stylish.

Would love to dress my lady in a slightly different pattern like a Taffeta A-line pleated dress (Left) or play with two different fabrics (organza and silk) to form a design pattern (center), or go all the way with metallics, used in a print form (right).

The original self developed prints, printed digitally on Indian Raw / slub silk fabric. The silhouettes throughout are consciously kept similar. Here in particular we let our woman experiment with necklines and have a play of coloursyet keeping it not so busy.

The woman I design for is confident & thus she does not shy away from experimenting with something as different as organza dresses, which are exclusively hand painted.

The pleated structured dress makes a perfect wear for our confident ladyin solid colours, for a pattern like these, we can have plenty of colour options ranging from blacks, nude or as in image a gold yellow or violet.

The laser cut stripes made into basket weaveunevenly raised pattern using hand embroidery, and made into a formal jacket in black colourwhich makes it perfect corporate wear.
