MAGINHAWA: The two meanings

Maginhawa (Development)

•  Maginhawa Street stands as a clear visualization of a developed, urbanized and commercialized area

•  Different establishments like banks, fast food chains, schools, church, Brgy. Hall, laundry shops, etc. are built along the street

•  Major Road: widened and cemented

Maginhawa (Feeling/ Impression)

•  Diwa ng Lunan: Misleading because of the different establishments, buildings and residential houses that are built alongside each other

•  “Eat street” - Known for its various fast food chains that offer different cuisines/ food

•  street signs: signify the kind of establishment built

•  design elements of the buildings: trying to reveal own identities amidst the existence of other buildings

Signification
