and

now... ‘how individuals are empowered to organize themselves’

nobody thought about

-valuation?

-businessplan?

-capabilities of the entrepreneur?

-regulations?

-protecting investors?

what’s

clear

is…

‘We are living in a time where the individual is empowered to organise him/herself. Mostly facilitated by online platforms. Without the traditional barriers like hierarchy, old boys network,

etc.

and

now... ‘how individuals are empowered to organize themselves’

wel

duidelijk‘We leven in een tijd waarin het individu wordt empowered zichzelf te organiseren. Vaak gefaciliteerd door online platformen. En vaak buiten traditionele kanalen om.’

I believe that EVERY ‘organisation’ wil been influenced by the collaborative economy. Direct or indirect.

-what IS new? -what has to change to make it a sustainable model?

-how can we lower thresholds -business opportunities -how can we connect ‘old’ and ‘new’ economy?

5x4 insights

1. context: what IS happening right

now

2. what can we learn from this new

movements?

3. why is it so hard for existing

organisations to implement?

4. What are the main issues to

focus on right now?

5. What are the future

developments to keep an eye on?

#1 Focus in media and discussion at the BIG examples. They don’t give a good picture of the market and the potential*

#2 Most things that happen right now are nothing new at all….*

#3 Huge amounts of money are invested in the Collaborative Economy. Is that a good thing?*

#4 Innovation driven by technologic innovations. (smartphone, GPS, realtime demand/supply, apps and platforms)

5. What are the future

developments to keep an eye on?

#2 Sharing economy grows by using unused goods.

#3 ‘Value’ is more than only money

#3 ‘Value’ is more than only money

#4 In the new economy we see a new type of (shared) leadership. Started from a deep internist motivation to fix something. Driven by strong values.

#5 Nieuwe economie kenmerkt door nieuwe type (gedeeld) leiderschap. En veelal gestart vanuit intrinsieke motivatie om iets op te lossen.

“My dream: to democratise acces to capital and empower anyone to fund what matters to them, whatever that is.”

#1 Risk and reputation. Outsource? Acquisition?

#2 No sense of urgency.

#3 Looking into the wrong corner when talking about innovation and competition*

5. What are the future

developments to keep an eye on?

#1 Monopoly position of platforms. (small vs big <> big vs small)

#2 Crowd (sharing) companies don’t share a lot themselves. Everybody is inventing the wheel themselves: software, legal documents, etc.

#3 Responsibilities of platforms?

#4 Role government?*

#4 Reputation (data)*

#5 Reputation (data)*

‘the currency of the new economy

is trust’

platform or external tool?

who owns YOUR

reputation data?

#5 Match between ‘old’ and ‘new’ economy*

My thoughts for

Vuollerim

(part 1 ;-))

Vuollerim = the

perfect offline

collaborative

platform > create

environment &

facilitate others

- keep the best what you have now,

only use new ideas and techniques

to facilitate you in living your

values. - storytelling is the key of your

succes: create great stories where

you all could be proud on!

- don’t analyse this succes to death:

never underestimate the power of

serendipity.

because the great thing is we all have an idea, a vision, a meaning on the collaborative economy, but NOBODY has THE answer.

and despite all the ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ it's super cool what's happening and there are a huge amount of great opportunities.

join the expedition!
