CSR Programs Are Laying The Foundation Of India For The Upcoming Youth

Ever since the inception of India, big corporations and companies who have made industrialization possible in the country also have been actively serving the community.

Although CSR activities of majority of the companies tend to be in the format of Charity events and Donations, many companies have started schools for the poor and other various programs to help improve the weaker sections of the society.

Many companies even have specially dedicated CSR teams to formulate the companies’ policies regarding the various projects it works on, define strategies and goals for the coming projects and help set aside a budget for the projects.

Community development,

Healthcare development,

Development in the education standards of the society,

Environmental development etc.

are some of the key programs of CSR in India that have managed to help many people from the economically and socially backward sectors of the country.

Many corporates can also be seen joining hands with different NGOs to work along with as such NGOs have a far wider reach and network among the rural population of India.

Building the foundation of India in CSR activities

The CSR programs in India have a deep connection with the history of India and as the nation has progressed and changed, the policies, targets and various other important aspects of the CSR projects have changed.

In the mid-1800s, philanthropy was the main cause behind the CSR projects. Industrialists and wealthy merchants shared with the poor people a part of their earnings or helped in the construction of various places of worship.

Then as the Independence era took place and a new foundation of India was being built,

Many corporates wanted to demonstrate their love as well as dedication for the society hence various scientific institutions, schools and colleges were set up by the industrialists.

Then as the time progresses, the CSR projects started having less to do with helping the needed but instead the projects were being converted into different business strategies to boost the company.
