Symbols• The flag of Cuba was adopted on May 20, 1902,

containing a field with five blue and white stripes, and a red equilateral triangle and a white five point star.

• The flag of Cuba was designed in 1848.• The blue stripes refer to the three old divisions

of the island; and the two white stripes represent the strength of the independent the red triangle symbolizes the blood.

Goverment

• The Council of State of Cuba is a 31-member body of the government of Cuba, elected by the National Assembly of People’s Power. he membership consists of a President, a Secretary, a First Vice President, five Vice Presidents, and 27 additional members. The President, the Secretary, the First Vice President, and the five Vice Presidents are also members of the Council of Ministers.

History

54 species of mammals350 species birds,106 reptiles ,42 amphibians 1.400 mollusks, insects , and arachnids. They have more than 150 fish species , the majestic marlin , swordfish and sailfish, tuna, mackerel, seatrout, jack and barracuda.

• Their religion was brought from the Roman Catholic religion by the Spanish colonizers A growing number of Cubans, however, are to be found attending Christian Protestant services on Sunday mornings. Religious practice in Cuba tends to be relatively independent from institutionalized and structured forms.

Language

• Their official language is the Spanish ,the English is spoken in tourist areas like Varadero, and prestigious hotels that are in Habana.

• When you are not in a tourist area its hard to function without knowing Spanish.

EducationThe education in Cuba is free for all the levels, the school is obligatory up to grade nine. Primary system is sufficient for all Cuban children.Cuba has 2.174 high school level institutions and 47 higher learning establishments. There is one teacher for 37 inhabitants.
