vii) Statement regarding collaboration with scientists abroad:
Collaboration research works with Prof. J. P. Dauer, University of Tennessee at
Chattanooga, Chattanooga, USA have been started since 1994 and published
several articles in the reputed journals. Korean Scientific Engineering Foundation
(KOSEF) offered international Visiting Research Fellowship for doing collaborative
research works at the Department of Mathematics, Pusan National University,
Pusan, South Korea under Prof. J. Y. Park in two times. Dr. P. Balasubramaniam has
received KOSEF twice and visited as a Research Scientist from 5th June 2001 to 4th
Sept. 2001 and from 5th August 2005 to 30th July 2006 to the Department of
Mathematics, Pusan National University, Pusan, South Korea and published nearly
10 papers in SCI journals.
Under UGC-SAP (DRS), the international Visiting Research Fellowship for doing
collaborative research works with the faculties in the Department of Mathematics,
University of Ioannina, Greece for the period of six months from 1st February 2008 to
30th July 2008 has been sanctioned by UGC. Under the collaborative research works
the outcomes have been published in few reputed journals.
In the year 2006, MOU has been signed for doing collaborative exchange research
works with faculties in the Department of Mathematics, Yensei University, Seoul,
South Korea.
Recently fruitful research discussions have been initiated by Dr. P. Balasubramaniam
with the faculty members in the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of
Science, University of Malaya under the short term visit during the period from 2nd
Dec. 2010 to 16th Dec 2010 and 12th Sept. 2011 to 11th March 2012. The research
discussions have been made with Prof. Dr. Wan Ainum Binti Mior Othman, Dr.
N.Kumaresan and Prof. Dr. Kurunathan Ratnavelu in the field of Cryptography,
Neural Networks, and Fuzzy Systems.

Also discussions with Prof. Dr. Kurunathan Ratnavelu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor,
University of Malaya, have been made for the possible signing of MOU between
Universities for doing collaborative research works on stability and edge detection of
medical images. Further for doing collaborative research works in the control theory
and their applications the possible discussions have been made with Prof. Dr. Chee-
Peng LIM, Deputy Dean (Graduate Studies & Research), School of Electrical and
Electronic Engineering at University of Sains Malaysia on 13th Dec. 2010.
During the Singapore Visit from 3 Feb. 2012 to 7 Feb 2012, Dr. P. Balasubramaniam
has discussed on Monday (6-2-2012) with Prof. Shuzhi Sam Ge, National University
of Singapore. Further fruitful discussions have made with Prof. Er Meng Joo,
Director, Renaissance Engineering Programme, Nanyang Technological University,
Singapore on 7th February 2012 (Tuesday) for fuzzy control of robotics to rural
development in terms of science and society by improving the fundamental research,
technical teaching and infrastructure. Accordingly few works have been completed
with Prof. Er Meng Joo and communicated to the reputed journals for publications.
During the South Korea Visit from 17th Nov. 2012 to 30th Nov. 2012, Dr. P.
Balasubramaniam has discussed on for possible Collaborative works with Professor
Ju Hyun Park, Yeungnam University, South Korea and Professor Jin-Mun Jeong,
Pukyong National University, South Korea in the area of H-infinity control problems
and their applications. During June 2013, Prof. Dr. C. P. LIM, Deakin University of
Australia has worked with Prof P. Balasubramaniam for two weeks in the
Departement of Mathematics, Gandhigram Rural Institute and submitted the join
Indo-Australian research project AISRF.
During the visit of Malaysia from 1st May 2013 to 28th May 2013 Prof. P.

An Introduction to Prof. P. Balasubramaniam Research & Full Publication List
He has introduced polytopic and linear fractional uncertainties in the neutral type and fuzzy
phenomenon of delayed neural networks to establish stability and stabilization results for the
problems that appear in study of automatic control, chemical reactors, distributed networks
and so on by constructing the suitable new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional in terms of Linear
Matrix Inequalities by employing delay decomposition techniques and free-weighting
matrices. Further various delays including of leakage, time-varying and discrete have been
successfully introduced by the nominee to establish various stability results and Hopf
bifurcation analysis of thymic infection with HIV-1.
Recently, the nominee derived stability criterion for the edge detection and segmentation
that are the thrust area in the Image processing with applications in medical images such as
white blood cell detection, CT of liver, Uterus, Heart images, and MRI of brain by
successfully developing the innovative Temporal Intuitionistic fuzzy cellular neural networks

(TIFCNNs) and bipolar neural networks. Noise is a common problem in acquisition,
transmission and processing of image, which will decrease image quality seriously, in order
to reduce the noise the nominee effectively developed TIFCNNs and bipolar neural networks
and succeeded with less time complexity. Further the application of stability criterion in
robotics through the discrete systems has been achieved. In that direction, published papers
and edited books has been referred by several researchers all over the world. Prof. P.
Balasubramaniam has Google Scholar H-index 30, Scopus H-index 26, Web of Science
H-index 23 and also a recipient of Tamil Nadu Scientist awards (2005) by Government of
Tamil Nadu, India.
