DESIGN HISTORYIn 2011, when I was in the third grade in Taiwan university of arts, my school received a invita-tion from Tokyo university in Japan. They invited us to design a piece of furniture in their muse-ums. Thus, they held the furniture competition on Taiwan university of arts, the winner’s design can be collected in Museum of Tokyo university forever, even on the other designer gallery in Japan.
Luckily, my design won the competition, and was collected in Tokyo museum. After two years later, I did a new one for Taiwan young designer exhibition, and then, the new one now be collected in Taipei Veterans General Hospital of arts museum.

DESIGN METHODOLOGY: Semiotic. My inspiration is come form solar system. My design is to set off the power that making people feel they are in the central and be surrounded by stars when they seat on the chair.
When I study in Craft and Design course, I was fascinated of experi-menting deferent textile and combine the mathematic principle on my design. I design hardware for making the frame can be turned in different angle, also, can be play in different shape. This design is to emphasize the trajectory is focusing on the center. This design is more artistic than functional use.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS:The chair is made by wood. Mainly, I experiment with the traditional wood making technique- wood curving, and metal manufacturing lesser cut the weld. The most difficult part is the metal bar and the structures have to sustained the weight of the wood, and make sure it can be moved smoothly.
The main concept of the BLUE ISLAND is the explora-tion of an intersection of design with algae biotechnolo-gy in the context of building up the eco-tourism industry in Matsu. Eco-tourism emphasises on the interrelation-ship between the tourist and the environment. And yet it is relatively easy to imagine a culture that is more care-ful in its use of resources than is currently the norm.
The BLUE ISLAND, which is the bio-digital installation, we can through the observations and imitation from the wild Dinoflagellates ecology and utilise the hetero-trichous Dinoflagellates and local agricultural waste to build up the “bio- digital installation”- BLUE ISLAND. Through the visible ecosystem My design makes clear the challenges we are up against to the pollutions in an increasingly human-dominated environment, and refers to the Dinoflagellates as local cultural identity. The design aims to fit the goal of creating eco- tourism industry for Matsu.

The BLUE ISLAND
2DESIGN CONCEPT
Since 2012, bioluminescent algae started booming in Matsu. We named the bioluminescent algae as Dinoflagellates. The booming of Dinoflagellates causes the surface of the ocean to sparkle at night. This spectacle attracts tons of tourists and boosts the local economy. Dinoflagellates are micro –algae. based on academic research, we found the main causes of the bioluminescent algae boost to be the pollution from China, local agriculture waste and global warming. These phenom-ena point out that Matsu islands are affected by serious levels of pollution from China. Ironically, the damage destroys our fish industry, but prompts the tourism industry by accident. As a designer from this poor Island, I intend to discuss this contradictory issue and find the best solutions for them.

Goal
Dinoflagellates
DESIGN RESEARCHI gathered more information from the issue. It can be map out into four directions.
N. scintillans populations can exhibit high concentrations due to high concentrations of the plankton on which they feed, which are likely due to environ-mental conditions such as well-mixed nutrient-rich waters, seasonal circulation and runoff from agricultural pollution.
Many dinoflagellates are photosynthetic and are among the major primary produc-ers of the phytoplankton along with diatoms. This form of energy acquisition allows some 50% of dinoflagellates to be considered autotrophic, although all but a few species are auxotrophic for vitamin B12, thiamin and biotin Dinoflagellates are generally described as C3 plants, although some species may resemble C4 plants under certain conditions, and dinoflagel-lates, in general, may show some charac-teristics of both types. The difference between these types is whether or not three or four carbon sugars are produced and the enzymes used to fix CO2.

What if using argriculture waste as nutritionfor growing Dinoflagellate and educate people “this is come from pollution”?

DINOFLAGELLATE
The main features and possibilities of Dinoflagellate.
Pyrocystis fusiformis is a dinoflagellate that can be found in the world's oceans. It is a phytoplankton, which basically means it is a tiny organism in the ocean that moves with the currents and conducts photosyn-thesis.
Pyrocystis fusiformis is important because it is a major producer in the world's oceans. Through photosynthesis, it produces a large amount of oxygen and consumes carbon dioxide. This influences the concentrations of oxygen and carbon dioxide in Earth's atmosphere.
How can I use Dinoflagellates prompts eco-tourism industry?According the academic research, there are half of Dinoflagellates are Heterotrichous micro-algae which means we can cultivate it in an artificial way. Through the essence of the Pyrocystis fusiformis, such as photosynthesis, bioluminescence and biomass. Maybe I can build an artificial bio landscape for local tourism industry.

DESIGN RESEARCHThis design was for a international ceramic design competition (FREZE award). I did the research the of the FREZE ceramic style. Their product is famous for ceramic sculpture. The complicated manufacturing process increasing their cost on the production line, also that’s the reason why their product can be sale in a luxury price. Therefore, my design has to match their spirits.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS:I use CNC and wooden shaping machine to produced my 3D model, and ceramic casting by myself. The most difficult part is combine each of the component together to be a vase. The success rate just only 20%.
One vase can be used in the different type of flowers.Through the variety of combination, the vase emphasize the beauty of the flowers in different posture.

Coworking is a style of work that involves a shared working environment, often an office, and independent activity. Typically it is attractive to work-at-home professionals, independent contractors, or people who travel frequently who end up working in relative isolation.Coworking is also the social gathering of a group of people who are still working independently, but who share values, and who are interested in the syner-gy that can happen from working with people who value working in the same place alongside each other.

Goal
In this project we have to taking the future living, working style, environ-ment changing issues in our concern. Based on the research of future environment. My team choose mushroom as a green recourse to build the future-working scenario, because of the following advantages, then focusing on co-working form to promote a local economy. BIG DATA
In the future, work is project-based.
Individuals gather many skills and use their expertise to work on project after project. We get the feeling that each project increases its worker’s skills and social networks.
In the future, work is local.
The rise of urbanization will result in larger cities being made up of many smaller localities. We would prefer to work with the expert they need who lives closest to them since face-to-face meeting and commu-nication will be easier. In addition, all the work facilities are local.
In the future, work is communal.
Community is a new important value. Working with your community members who live in your locality is a norm. People work in teams and become part of their neighbourhood’s production chain. Each locality will have things made by its community, for them and for other localities in the city.
In our story, Barnet’s biofuel is produced by local experts in local facilities. Members of the commu-nity are invited to participate in some stages of production with a certain payoff. In order to share information about the local businesses and events, interactive billboards are placed around com-munal areas.
DESIGN CONCEPT
Barnet is an urban neighbourhood in the city of London. Its local community work on projects in order to promote local production.im going to tell you the story of a start up that started small and made it big! A collaborative project between Barnetians that put Barnet on the map. It all started with a local mushroom expert and geophysicist, Basile, who decided to open a mushroom farm to grow specific kinds of mushrooms that can be harvested to produce biofuel.
Basile set out to find a complete team that can work with him. He first contacts John, an electronic engineer and hacker hobbyist that Basile has known from his hacker days. After hearing the project proposal, John gets very excited. He decides to partner up, after seeing a great career opportunity for him working on such a challenging project that would greatly benefit Barnet’s community.
“Basile, my man! What a great idea! And thanks for sharing it with me! I‘ll use my hacker skills to set up a monitoring system in the mushroom farm and biofuel distillery,” said John.
“That’s exactly why I sought you out. I know you’d be the perfect man for the job. Welcome aboard partner!” said Basile.
During the discussion, the duo realized that they needed more expertise with the distillery machines.
“I recall a past project I worked on, in which I collaborated with Helen, a brewer in Barnet. I installed a monitoring system in her brewery,” said John.
“Hmm, a brewer…I think she could be of great help to us,” said Basile.John contacted Helen, and the three met several times to discuss the details of the project and the ways in which Helen would help.
“Well, I don’t grow corn at the moment since corn plants attract lots of pests, which become a nuisance since I farm organically. BUT, the nutrient-rich compost you use for your mushrooms could help me with this exact problem. You see, it would be filled with mushroom mycelia, which would allow for a more fruitful harvest. Moreover, it would repel the pests that keep coming to my farm. How about this my friend, Ill grow corn to provide you with corn cobs and waste and you could provide me with nutrient-rich compost for my farm,” said farmer Roger.
“It’s a deal, buddy!”, said Basile.
He went to the local urban farm, run by farmer Roger, as this would be the perfect place to start his mushroom farm since both men can benefit from each other. Basile informed Farmer Roger of his plans to set up a mushroom farm and produce biofuel, but he needed Roger’s help.“I would need your agricultural plant waste from your corn crops, since they provide the sugars to be fermented by the mushrooms. This would allow your plant waste to be re-used, and would leave you with less waste to deal with,” said Basile.

“You could provide your expertise with the machinery used for fermentation and distillation, and for the processes themselves, given your experience with brewing,” said Basile.
Helen saw the potential of this business and loved the fact that it was environmentally friendly and local. She decided to partner up.
“This all sounds so exciting. Ill dedicate a small section of my brewing facility and equipment to this project and depending on the success of the project and the revenue coming in, I could provide more space later on,” said Helen.
They call for members of the neighbourhood to participate in harvesting the mushroom mycelia in preparation for the biofuel process. The local members that help in harvesting could purchase biofuel at a discounted price.
Many people switch to using Barnet’s local biofuel, to fuel their cars or to provide electricity.
Within a few months, the urban mushroom farm flourished; Basile started to give farmer Roger the compost to improve his organic farm and rid him of pests.
The local media buzzes with news about this biofuel project and many local neighbours want to help. Since mushrooms grow at a fast rate, the team realizes that they need some help in harvesting.

Cooking and preparing food can be a form of relaxation and safe haven in a hectic urban society, a chance to stop and enjoy the moment with all your senses. To get the most out of the dining experiences, people are becom-ing more interested in what they are eating, where the food is from as well as how the food looks on the plate in front of them. The need to connect with food tells about our desire to take better care of ourselves, eat healthier meals and ingredients of better quality, thus also reflecting how food has become a form of self-expression. Which inspiring and motivating solutions within culinary enjoyment can be designed to support the desire for healthier lifestyles in future homes and kitchens?

I combine the scientific way of cooking Molecular gastronomy with food printing (an emerging technology) to create new food.
Even if the user is not good at cooking, my concept makes it easy to be a professional chef. You can share your food design files on the Internet, allowing people to download them, and encouraging an open source community. This will break the stereotype of a good cook needing experience and practice. It not only offers a new way to make food but also encourages interaction between food and people.
Therefore, people can use the app or web to choose and share the cuisine online.
