Height/length

Damselfish will grow up to 14 inches ,but usually smaller.

2-14 inches

They can get up to 2 pounds or less.

Ocean zone habitat

They usually live in shallow water around coral reefs.

Place they could be find in are mangroves and bays of sea grass.

Predators/prey/what it eats:

It eats zoo plankton, tiny water borne crustaceans and fish larva.

Where it lives in the world

They are found mostly by their homes. Also mostly found by coral reefs They are found in all tropical and some

semitropical seas.

How does it move around

They swim like normal fish in the sea.

Damselfish make unusual purring or clicking noise that are used in courtship.

The same noises are used to warn off intruders.

Fact # 2

There are over 235 species within the damselfish family, including 26 species of clownfish.

Fact # 3

Damselfish belong to the Pomacentridae family.

Also in the Abudefduf, Dascyllus, Chromis, Chrysiptera, Paraglyphidon, and Stagnates.

More facts They lay up to 20,000 eggs. The hatching time is 3-7 days. Some species form large schools of

their kind. They live up to 18 years in captivity. Sexual maturity 2-5 years. Damselfish stay close to their coral

reef, often darting into dark crevices to hide from predators.
