In1954,themostpowerfulmenintheworldmetforthefirsttimeundertheauspicesoftheDutchroyalcrownandtheRockefellerfamilyattheluxuriousHotelBilderberginthesmallDutchtownofOosterbeek.Foranentireweekend,theydebatedthefutureoftheworld.

Whenitwasover,theydecidedtomeetonceeveryyeartoexchangeideasandanalyzeinternationalaffairs.TheynamedthemselvestheBilderbergGroup.Sincethen,theyhavegatheredyearlyinaluxurious

hotelsomewhereintheworldtotrytodecidethefutureofhumanity.

AmongtheselectmembersofthisclubareBillClinton,PaulWolfowitz,HenryKissinger,DavidRockefeller,ZbigniewBrzezinski,TonyBlairandmanyotherheadsofgovernment,businessmen,politicians,bankersandjournalistsfromallovertheworld.

Itiscertainlycuriousthatnomainstreammediaoutletconsidersagatheringofsuchfigures,whosewealthfarexceedsthecombinedwealthofallUnitedStatescitizens,tobenewsworthy,whenatripbyanyoneofthemontheirownmakesheadlinenewsonTV.ThisistheconundrumthatIhavepondered.Fifteenyearsagoitsetmeonaninvestigativejourneythathasbecomemylife’swork.Slowly,onebyone,IhavepenetratedthelayersofsecrecysurroundingtheBilderbergGroup,butIcouldnothavedonethiswithoutthehelpof

“conscientiousobjectors”frominside,aswellasoutside,theGroup’smembership.Tothem,Iextendmydeepestgratitudefortheirpricelessintelligencehasmadethisbookpossible.Youcanunderstandthen,thattoprotectthem,Icannotmentionthesetrueheroesbyname,onlythankthemforhelpingmefindoutwhatwasbeingsaidbehindthecloseddoorsoftheopulenthotelswheretheBilderbergersholdtheirannualmeetings.

Beforeweentertherealmofthisexclusiveclub,itisimportanttorecognizethatneitherpeoplenororganizationsareabsolutely“evil,”

Toronto,hometooverfivemillionpeople,isthelargestfinancialcenterinCanadaandthefourthlargestcityinNorthAmerica.OnlyNewYork,ChicagoandLosAngeleshavelargereconomies.TheTorontoStockExchangeishere.ItisthethirdlargestinNorthAmericaintradingvalue,ninthintheworldinquotedmarketvalue,andithasthefirstfullycomputerizedtradingsysteminNorthAmerica.

Asthefestivitiesbegantowinddown,Iponderedmyapproachingappointment,madeduringaphonecallfromoneofmysources,whowantedurgentlytoseemebeforetheendoftheconferencescheduledforthefollowingday.WehadagreedtomeetinlessthananhouratCalatrava’sGalleria.BCEPlaceisoneofthemostinconspicuousplacesinallofTorontopreciselybecauseofitsimmensity,withdrovesoftouristgawkerspassingthroughthepremisesphotographingandvideotapingthesightsandsoundsofToronto’spremierarchitecturalattraction.

AsIroundedthecornerattheGalleria,Icouldseemycontactbrowsingthenewspaperstand,aplasticbaginlefthandandhisotherholdingarolledupmagazine.Afterachanceeyecontact,andwithoutacknowledgingeachother’spresence,wemovedsilentlytowardstherevolvingentranceoftheadjacentCanadaTrustTower,whereafriendwhoworkedfortherealestatedeveloperhadarrangedaroomoverlookingthecityskylineononeofthetopfloors.

Iwalkedintoanelevator,nervouslyglancingbehindme.Mycontactwastofollowmefiveminuteslater.AsIenteredtheposhsuite,thesplendorofoneofNorthAmerica’smostbeautifulcitiesopenedupandstoodmajesticallybeforeme.From800feetaboveground,thecitystoodstill.Iwasshutofffromthebustleandsoundsofthisgreatmetropolisbysoundproofwindows.

TheCanadaTrustTowerisanarchitecturalmarvelwhereasquaremeterofspacerentsoutfor160Canadiandollars.Thebuildingisequippedwith24-hourCCTVsurveillancecameras,24elevators,eightlevelsofundergroundparking,sevensecurityguardsattheentrance,plusundercoverpolice.The

skyscraperishometosomeofthemostestablishedandsuccessfulmultinationalcorporationsintheworld.

Allofasudden,Ionceagainfeltontheoutsidelookingin.Wouldallthiscontinuetomakeadifference?Wouldpeoplewakeuptotheimminentdanger?Orwouldthis,inthelongerrun,bejustanothercloak-and-daggerexperience?Afterall,“Haveaniceday,son”hadbeenthereplyofonepasserby,afterIhadpatientlyexplainedtohimjustwhowasvisitingandwhattheywereupto.

Nonetheless,muchhadbeenaccomplishedintheselastseveraldays.

Foronce,weclearlyhadtheupperhandontheBilderbergers.Presscoveragewastremendous.Kissingerwasroyallypissedoff:definitivelyagoodsign.Totheirchagrin,attendingEuropeanroyaltywerehoundedbyunwantedpress.Theplansfortheimminentbreakupofmyadoptedcountryweretemporarilyputonhold.Whatelsecouldonehopetoachieveinsuchashorttime?

“guineapigs”intheTavistockinstigatedpsychologicalwarfareexperiments.

Iliveforthedayandthehourinwhichmenandwomenofhonorwillrecognizethatdignity,kindness,integrity,trust,loveofthyfellowbeingsareasindispensabletothesurvivalofthehumanraceasGalileo’sdiscoverieswere.Theseprinciplesofhumanityshouldbeenshrinedonsomedocumentsomewhere,sothatshouldafuturedespotdecidetobetrayHumanityonceagain,hewillpaydearlyforit.

Onthesurface,thisbookisaboutasecretiveGroupknownsimplyastheBilderbergers.Onamuchdeeperlevel,however,itisaboutinnerfaithandconviction,whichpublicopinion,bribery,lustformoneyandpowercannotinfluence.Thisbookisabouttheintegrityandhonorofmanyindividuals.Itisabouthelpingpeoplelearntothink,andstandindependentintheirthoughtsevenfromtheso-calledexperts,masterfullyrepresentedbyeverymajormediagroupwhowouldtellthemwhichconspiracytheorynottobelieve.

Thisbookisalsoaboutmylife,aboutmyrefusingtoliveinfear.Untilmydyingbreath,Ishallliveasafreeman,walkingtheearthasafreemandoes,withmyheadheldhigh.Onlywhenwedecidetoletfeargovernouractionswillthosewhomweopposeanddespisetrulywon.
