size bolts & nuts
- Use of proper spring washers shall be mandatory for any inter-panel
assembly work, foundation bolts, jointing, fixing of mechanical and electrical
connections- All bolts & nuts shall be tightened to their respective torques and marked
with distinct colour (torque marks).
-The frame of each panel assembly work shall be so rigid that, during
installation, the aligning of internal components including CB truck movement
shall not be affected due to uneven floor surface conditions. Assembly work
shall not be sensitive
- Removable type circuit labels as described in this specification shall be fixed
both on front & back of each panel

- Danger symbols shall be permanently marked on both front & back of each
panel (stickers are not acceptable)
- Painting work on panels shall not have any scratches/peel-offs/ chippings,
and quality requirements shall comply with the spec
- Two name plates, with all details as specified, shall be fixed one on front side
and other at rear side of each panel.
- CT name plates details shall be permanently fixed at panel rear wall, in LV
Cabinet, and on CT itself in every panel
-All metal work & Live components shall not have any sharp edges
All un-used holes/openings/orifices/cable entry holes/inter-compartmental
wiring apertures shall be closed with caps/plugs. (temporary arrangements
like silicone sealing/foam filling are not acceptable)
- All entry holes for earth bus-bars shall be fully closed without gaps with
proper sealing grommets, plates etc. (temporary arrangements like silicone
sealing/foam filling are not acceptable)
-Pressure relief flaps for internal arc protection shall be located on top of panel
For CB compartment
- Main Door Hinges shall be Robust design & Construction
- Pad-locking facility for main door, as specified, shall be provided
- Proper alignment of main contacts of CB shall be ensured
- Shutters shall be clearly paint marked with BUSBARS and FEEDERS
respectively with large white letters.
-Bus-bar shutter shall be RED coloured, and that of Feeder shall be LEMEN
YELLOW
-Caution symbols are also to be paint marked on the shutters along with
legend markings.
-Shall have integral manual shutter opening device. The device mechanismshall have facility for opening & latching individual shutter in open condition.
-Insertion of CB truck into the compartment shall override the manual shutter
operating device and normal shutter operation is restored
-Individual Shutters shall have pad locking facility when shutters are in closed
condition
-For BUS-SECTION panels, provide arrow markings on the shutters as specified
(indicating direction of bus-section connected)
-Viewing window, as specified, shall be fixed on front door
-Permanent phase colour markings shall be made (no stickers)
-For Bus-bar Compartment-Main Bus-bars shall be fully insulated with heat-shrink sleeves
-Loose taping on bus-bar joints & connections are not acceptable
-All bus-bar joints & connections shall be shrouded with insulating boots, as
specified.
-There shall not be any scope to enter water droplets (due to condensation)
into these joints & connections

-Bus-bar end covers design shall be such that there shall be easy access
without any hindrance for installing or dismantling. But, the screws or bolts
used for this purpose shall not be accessible from outside.
-For Cable Compartment
- -All 11kV cable entry shall be from rear bottom of panels
-Capable of terminating 3Core XLPE and PILC cables up to 300mm2
--Cable terminal connections shall be suitable for making heat-shrinkterminations with right-angled or straight insulating boots.
-
-Clearance between 11kV connection terminals and bottom plate shall not be
less than 650mm.
-Viewing window, as specified, shall be fixed on rear door
-
-Proper alignment between cable entry holes at bottom and the cable
connecting terminals shall be maintained
-All panels shall be supplied with required number of un-insulated brass
wiping glands conforming to BS 2562 & Size Y
-Matching mounting holes (free holes without any welded nuts) at cable entry
points on bottom plate shall be made to fix the glands
-Cable entry & gland mounting holes shall be closed with temporarycaps/plugs/blanking plates when panels are supplied
-Permanent phase identification colour markings (preferably by screen
printing) shall be provided both inside the cable compartment and outside on
the rear cover
7.0 OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
All normal operations shall be possible only when main door is in closed
condition
Ensure correct alignment of all front orifices with respective
mechanisms/handles
All orifices meant for operations, shall remain in closed in normal condition,
with the help of spring-loaded self-closing shutters/covers, and automaticallyget closed when the operating handles are removed from the orifices.
Rack-in rack-out operations shall be easy to be operated with single hand
Rack-in/rack-out operation shall be smooth without any bumpy/jerky
movements
Mechanical spring charging of CB shall be possible with main door both in open
& closed conditions
Mechanical spring charging shall be possible in both CB truck in TEST or
SERVICE positions
Mechanical tripping/opening of CB shall be made through the operation of
mechanical push-buttonMechanical tripping/opening of CB shall be possible in both main door closed
and open conditions
Mechanical tripping/opening of CB shall be possible in both CB truck in TEST or
SERVICE positions

Under emergency requirements, mechanical closing of CB shall be possible in
main door open condition, by disabling the main door interlock

printed on front of main door.
Remote/Local selection for Electrical operation of CB shall be made through
cam operated selector switch fitted for the purpose on LV compartment door
Electrical closing & opening operations of CB shall be accomplished through
cam operated switch fitted for the purpose on the LV compartment door

the help of operating handles8.0 MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL INDICATIONS
All mechanical status or position indications shall be through positively driven
mechanisms in both directions of their operations.
Precise mechanical position indicators shall be available at front of the panel to
indicate exact positions of CB truck in TEST or SERVICE positions.
Mechanical status indicators of spring charge mechanism shall be provided on
the CB truck. CLOSE status shall be indicated with suitable symbol along with
inscriptions engaged. OPEN status shall be indicated with a blank disengaged
using standard colour backgrounds
Mechanical status indicators of CB ON/OFF positions shall be available at front
of the panels by using standard colours for background and letters. If these are
provided on the CB truck, shall be clearly visible from front viewing window
both in TEST & SERVICE positions.
Mechanical status indicators of Earth Switches ON/OFF positions shall be
available at front of the panels by using standard colours for background and
ON/OFF inscription letters.
Operations counter shall be provided on CB truck and visible from viewing
window
Clear and permanent demarcation lines shall be marked inside CB
compartment to precisely indicate the positions of CB truck in TEST and
SERVICE positions
Electrical status indication of CB ON/OFF positions shall be made through
indicator lamps using standards colours of light
