Dawson Gold Reassures Safety of Smoke NV Products

Vancouver, British Columbia, February 4, 2016: Dawson Gold Corp. (TSX.V: DYU) (“Dawson Gold”) is

aware of a recent incident in Calgary regarding an unrelated brand of e-cigarette. As previously

announced, Dawson is in the process of acquiring Smoke NV (www.smokenv.com), an electronic

cigarette and vaping products company. We would like to assure customers and our investors that Smoke

NV products meet the highest safety standards in the industry.

While the recent incident did NOT involve a Smoke NV product, we want to take this opportunity to offer

our position on what may become a larger issue. Smoke NV supports an informed and educated

regulation of the electronic cigarette industry to ensure consumers are using safe products.

In December of 2015 as part of our due diligence on Smoke NV, Dawson representatives travelled to

Shenzhen, China to meet with Smoke NV’s factory partners and to tour the manufacturing floor and

testing facilities to ensure Smoke NV products are being made in accordance with the leading industry

standards for safety. Smoke NV uses only Lithium Ion Batteries with a UN 38.3 certification. This

means the batteries meet the same high-quality safety and regulatory standards as batteries used in cell

phones and laptops. All Smoke NV chargers are CSA and CUL certified to meet Canadian safety

standards. We encourage regulation to ensure that all electronic cigarettes and tank systems comply with

the high product and safety standards that Smoke NV requires of its products.

We encourage vendors and retailers to only sell brands that are manufactured with UN 38.3 certified

Lithium Ion Batteries and CSA and CUL certified components. We also encourage consumers to ensure

that they look for these certifications when deciding on which electronic cigarette to purchase. Even

though other devices may appear similar, they may not have the same safety standards. It is not

recommended for consumers to modify electronic cigarettes as that may cause safety issues. It is also not

recommended that consumers mix Smoke NV products with other brands. Smoke NV can only guarantee

its products, not other companies’ products.
