DAY 5
HOW TO COMPLETE GOD’S PLAN
FOR YOUR LIFE
PARIS NEWSPAPER:
“The Merchant of Death is Dead!”
The Nobel Peace Prize
“I press toward the mark of the high call
of God in Christ Jesus” –Phil.3:14
- Jeremiah 29:11
- Hebrews 12:1
Our eternal position & reward in God’s kingdom will be
determined by whether we accomplish God’s plan for our
present life on earth.
1. VISION- We need to see God’s plan for our life so that we can aim to fulfill it:
“Without a vision, the peopleare undisciplined” –Proverbs 29:18
- This was the ultimate goal of the Apostle Paul: In Philippians 3:13-14 it was the “one thing” that Paul aimed for.
- At the end of his life Paul knew he had
completed God’s plans, 2 Tim.4:6-8.
Christ’s last words in John 19:30 show He accomplished His goal: “IT IS FINISHED!”
OUR VISION: WE WERE CREATED
FOR ETERNAL PURPOSES!
- The only lasting importance of our present life
is how it prepares us for our eternal destiny:
- “It is appointed to man once to die, and after this
the judgment” –Hebrews 9:27
- Jesus said, “For what shall it profit a man, if he
shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
-Mark 8:36
The Richest Man on Earth(for a few years)
The Thhe
The Most Famous Man on Earth(for a few years)
Our present life prepares us for our eternal future:
- HEAVEN OR HELL, Rev.20:11-15
- OUR HEAVENLY REWARDS, Rev.22:12, Mat.19:28, Heb.11:35
Christ’s finished work gains us entrance to heaven
Our godly works gain us rewardsin heaven
God has created each of us with abilities and
talents to serve Him and gain a great reward!
2. WE MUST DEDICATE OUR
LIVES TO GOD’S PURPOSE
- Paul was focused: “One thing I do…
I press toward the mark” -Phil.3:13-14
- “Good” things can hinder us from
God’s best!
Billy Graham & President Johnson
King Solomon had a good beginning, but a bad ending to his life
Young Solomon / Old King Solomon
1. Loved God / Loved many women & idols
2. Built God’s Temple / Built many shrines to idols
3. Had God’s praise / Lost it, but had man’s praise
4. Cared for God’s flock / lost most of God’s flock,
but gained great flocks
and herds of animals
5. Lost his spiritual life / multiplied his natural life
-Trying to be satisfied with natural, temporary rewards will end in emptiness and sorrow:
Old King Solomon’s last writing was the book of Ecclesiastes. He declared his life was ending with emptiness & sorrow, and he warned in the book:
“Don’t end up like me!”
LIVE YOUR LIFE TO PREPARE FOR
ETERNITY!
EACH OF US CAN FULFILL GOD’S PLANS AND GAIN A GREAT
ETERNAL REWARD!
I have fought the good
fight, I have finished the
race, I have kept the
faith. Now there is a
crown waiting for me.”
-2 Tim.4:7-8
