Crew Team Page 2
On 18 January, Army West Point Crew competed
against the Royal Military College of Canada
winning the overall time and 14 of 17 head to head
matchups. The race was scored by adding the total
time of all racers from each team with the lowest time
winning. Army rowed a total time of 48:49:3 to
RMC's 54:06:7. The novice team performed
especially well. This was their first two-kilometer race and no one rowed the fiery death of "fly
'n die," where they start out strong but then can't keep up. The varsity team also beat
expectations. Cadet Nick Perovich and Cadet Cade Fleaher pulled their personal best 2K times,
while many other rowers were within seconds of their best times. A great performance by all,
and a harbinger of success in the future.

England Golden Gloves Tournament.
The winners from this event were: Adaya Queen, Eba Obiomon, Lawrence Shepherd, and
Luigi Galzerano.
Marathon
Page 3
On 2 February, the Army West Point Marathon Team raced a 20K road race hosted by Club
Connecticut in their annual ‘Boston Build up’ race series. The race began at Tomlinson Middle
School in Fairfield, Connecticut and ended at the Fairfield train station. The route consisted of rolling hills
throughout the scenic community of Fairfield. This race was the first of the semester for the Marathon
Team, and gave the team a benchmark to determine the shape it is in. The results were very promising
and the team is in a strong position to perform well at the Boston Marathon.
In the race, the men’s team captured 5 of the top 10 spots. Particularly elite performances came
from Cadet Dashiell Rogers (2023) and Charles Hogeboom (2021) with times of 1:12:50 and 1:13:09,
respectively.
The women’s team took two of the top ten spots with Haley Seaward (2023) and Autumn Shea (2020)
leading the way with times of 1:29:20 and 1:30:28 respectively.

narrower margin of 2151 to Army's 2142. Navy won the final event, Standard Pistol, again by a
