DCRA Building Permit Search Guide

Welcome to the DCRA Building Permit Search application, the web-based tool is used to search building Applications, Permits, and Plans from the past 3 years.

Please use the below username and password to login.

Username: publicrecorduser

Password: erecord1

1. On the left-hand pane, you will see two folders “Recent Searches” and “All Searches”. Select and Click on the “DCRA Building Permits” icon to open the search tool. Note: expand the folders if you do not see the search icon.

2. The DCRA Building Permits search tool will open in a tab in the right-hand pane.

3. Add search criteria into at least one of the fields to define your search. The File_Number translates to the Permit Number and Address translates to the full address of the building. (IE Address starts with 2000 Mass).

Note: you can redefine your search to use “starts with”, “like”, or “equals” for better results by clicking on the dropdown list.

4. After inputting your search criteria press the “Search” button to run the search.

Note: The search results will open at the bottom.

5. To open or view a document double click on the object or select the object and press Actions > Open.

Note: This will open the document in a new window.

Note: Use the viewer tools to zoom in and out, navigate to the next page, rotate the document, view the document properties, print the document, etc.

6. Selecting a document on the main page will open a thumbnail image and metadata properties in the right-hand pane.

7. To redefine a search, click on “Search Criteria” to expand the search criteria options.

8. Repeat steps 1-4 to make a search with File_Number (i.e., Permit Number). 9. To Logout of Content Navigator click on your username in the top right-hand corner and select

“Log Out” from the dropdown list or close the browser.
