Objective: Find sets of three objects and all the numeral 3’s in the picture. Children can draw a circle around, or colorin, the set of three or the numeral 3 and count how many they find. This activity helps children identify numbers of objectsand match them to a numeral.

For Younger Children: Use math counters, blocks, or toys to make sets of three. Take a “3 walk” looking for thenumeral 3 in a room, in a building, and outside

Objective: Look at the rows of objects and notice that one has a different orientation. Ask children to mark the one thatis different. How is it different? This activity challenges children to see differences of orientation (or positioning) of anobject. This skill is important because it is necessary for children in learning to recognize the differences between numbers.

For Younger Children: Use rows of similar store objects or toys to create this activity. Just turn one in a differentdirection and ask children to find the different one.
