basic education with the following key stages:- Kindergarten to Grade 3- Grades 4 to 6- Grades 7 to 10 (Junior High School)- Grades 11 and 12 (Senior High School)

Senior High School- Sports Track
Special Program in Sports (SPS)Identify/discover students with potential talent in sports and hone their skills for higher levels of athletic competitions.
Special Program in Sports (SPS)Under the K to 12, there is a paradigm shift elevating the SPS to a higher degree of social relevance.
Aside from enhancing athletic potential, it prepares students for work and higher education, and assist them in achieving a school-sports balance.
Originally, fifteen (15) schools piloted the SPS for four (4) years starting SY 2000-2001.
After the pilot, these schools were transformed into lead schools. As lead schools, they encouraged other schools to implement the program.
At present, there are 400 schools implementing the SPS
Special Program in Sports (SPS)Students take the regular curriculum and undergo a intensive training under trained coaches, specializing in the sports where they excel in to hone their skills.
SPS Schoolsregular curriculum with specialization in sports;
athletics and/or swimming as basic sports requirements;
SPS Schoolsa minimum of five (5) individual/ dual sports (archery, arnis, badminton, chess, gymnastics, tennis, table tennis, taekwondo) and three (3) team sports (baseball, basketball, football, sepak takraw, softball, volleyball);

SPS StandardsThe SPS learner demonstrates understanding of the different aspects in specialized sports for athletic excellence in preparation for a sports-related work or in pursuit of a profession.

Palarong PambansaAnnual multi-level scholastic athletic
competition conducted by the Department of Education
Starts with school intramurals followed by the district, division and regional athletic meets which culminates in the Palarong Pambansa
Palarong PambansaParticipated in by elementary and
high school students (Regular Program, SPS and Sports Track) both from public and private schools.
After finishing high school, student athletes pursuing higher education may avail of scholarships as varsity players.
National Athletes (Elite)Top performing athletes who compete
in high level amateur competitions.
They undergo intensive training under the National Sports Association.
