It is with immense pleasure we are releasing the latest issue of SADHANA – the Depart-
ment e-Newsletter. This issue highlights events, activities, academic prowess and achieve-
ments of students and faculty members between July and December 2018. We do hope
and expect that the newsletter encourages many more, including students, to use it as a
platform to express their creativity. Please feel free to offer any suggestions for improve-

EVENTS
Three Week Induction Program for the 1st Semester Engineering students admitted for the
academic year 2018 – 2019 under VTU was conducted at college level and department level to
welcome the students to the institution with a view of developing inquisitiveness over technical
education among Engineering Students and develop competency over physical activity, creative
arts, universal human values, literary activity, proficiency modules, personality development, event
management and leadership qualities.
A ‘Parents– Teachers Meet’ was organized on 29th sept 2018 to promote the welfare of the stu-
dents in home, college and community, Parents were updated by The Head of The Department re-
garding the improvements and upcoming events and activities . Also discussions were held to re-
solve the clarifications and queries from the parents regarding the development of their wards
A two day National Symposium was held on 4th and 5th July 2018 on the topic Emerging Trends in
Industrial Safety and Health Co ordinated by Prof U Krishnaprasad and Prof Rashmi S.
A five day Faculty Development Programme on “Data Analysis using R Programming and Predic-
tive Modelelling” from 23rd-27th July 2018 co ordinated by Mr U Krishnaprasad, Ms Rashmi S and
Mr Shivasharan Yalagi.

INDUSTRY CONNECT 2018
A One day National Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering and Management-2018,
(NCETEM-2018) was held on 12th December 2018, organized by department of Industrial Engineer-
ing and Management, JSSATE, Bengaluru-560060 .
The event was inaugurated by Shri A. S. Kiran Kumar is Vikram Sarabhai Professor, ISRO.
In total 49 research papers were presented (25 papers from management stream and 24 papers
from Engineering stream) from research scholars and students of various institutions.
