after historic floods hit Iowa, an event which lasted 28 days. This overflow was from the emergency spillway at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Coralville Lake.

Crinoids, brachiopods, and colonial coral can be found while touring this site.

This stretch of limestone gives visitors the opportunity to walk across an ancient sea floor.

Originally a series of rapids from the Ohio River, “The Falls” is now one of the largest naturally exposed, Devonian fossil beds. A colleciton of long extinct rugosan fossil corals (horn corals), brachiopods, trilobites, and primitive mollusks.

Co a l Co u n t y , Ok l a h o maThe two primary Devonian formations are the Haragan and Bois d' Arc. Over 30 different Devonian trilobite species in about a dozen genera have been described.
