looking for in resumes and interviews.

• No long resume loaded with buzzwords (3-4 pages max!)

• Be yourself

• Know the job’s skill requirements• “Must have…”• “Nice to have…”

• Demonstrate effort• Don’t always look for short-

cuts• Build clusters from

timeframe!• You are within their budget!• You REALLY want the job!

Hadoop and not relational data stores”…

• Detailed: “What happens when a datanode fails?”…

• How strong is your Java?• “It needs to be stronger.”

Join and participate in relevant online communities. Like: LinkedIn (Groups), GitHub, Google Code, WANdisco, etc

Watch what you say – social network / online communities!

Mgr’s and (good) recruiters monitor your online activity.
