The Heartbeat of Payson, AZ >>>

Did you know >>>

It is remarkable the impact our residents make when fulfilling a unique opportunity in our community. This month we chose to read to preschoolers at the Safe Haven Preschool in Payson. Many Majestic Rim residents gathered their favorite children’s books and read Just One More by Jennifer Hansen Rolli and The Mine-O-Saur by Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen, just to name a few.

The preschool staff, parents and especially the children showed much interest and undivided attention throughout the reading hour. As each story grew in intensity, the kids grew closer to the resident reading while offering their own conclusion. We never get tired of a young child’s voice excited with enthusiasm as he guesses about what’s going to happen next. “This brings back so many memories,” shared Joyce.

Give the gift of reading to a little one this month,

Majestic Rim Retirement Living

Guided by goodness, loyalty, faith, and fun

That’s right! The Payson Community Garden is in full swing and we are seeking individuals to volunteer and help us with the planting, cultivating and picking of wonderful, fresh vegetables and herbs. You get to have fun and enjoy the fruits of your labor. We offer a great staff to assist with the process as well. Contact Majestic Rim Retirement Living and let’s play in the dirt! Call 928.474.3912 to get dates, times and other pertinent information. We look forward to meeting you.

that Majestic Rim has an outdoor activity perfect for all our residents, family and friends who can all help out and costs zero?

Like most activities at Majestic Rim, residents and staff sure know how to enjoy a good party. And let there be no excuse for avoiding this feast, compliments of Chef Kathy and her amazing dining staff. If you look carefully beyond the delicious treats, you will see our pot of gold…Our Smiling Residents!

Spring Gardening

It is that time again where we all have big ambitions to tackle the yard and garden to recreate the perfect summer retreat. It’s the outdoor room where we want to enjoy nature and breathe the fresh air.

But if you have not started pruning, weeding and prepping, you are not the only one. Here are some essential gardening tips offered by Home Advisor in an April Huffington Post article.

Here are five easy steps to cultivating that perfect garden.

1. Clean out the garden. Remove debris, weeds, and leaves to start with a clean slate.

2. Enrich the planting soil. Remember to add moisture to the compost or manure along with other nutrients needed.

3. Trim older plants. Pruning the dried and/or dead branches are necessary to develop new growth.

4. Add mulch to any flower bed areas to prevent weeds and diseases.

5. Plant new flowers and shrubs and enjoy your outdoor space!

at sea. The RMS Titanic notably known for being unsinkable due the design of the airtight, compartmentalized hull. However the compartments were not sealed at the top of each compartment making it difficult to manage the rapid flow of water from one compartment to the next. With 2,200 passengers and crew on board, approximately 700 people were pulled to safety from the icy Atlantic by Cunard liner Carpathia. Many safety rules were implemented immediately following the disaster such as rules requiring mandatory life boats and safety evacuation procedures. On Sept. 1, 1985 a team of US and French explorers searched for the wreckage using unmanned submarine vessels, of which they located the Titanic 13,000’ deep on the ocean floor.
