Interesting Facts
The island has no speed limit on public roads, which makes the Isle of Man very attractive to amateurs of rapid ride from Great Britain.
Memorial to five-times champion of
Formula One and twenty-six times champion race winner
Joey Dunlop TT
The smallest model car in the world «Peel P50» was manufactured on the Isle of Man from 1962 to 1965.
It is very interesting that horse trams have been the part of the public
transport system in the capital since 1876.
A unique type of cat which has short hair and no tail has been bred on the island.
There are two versions of why these cats have no
tail. According to a legend, the unsuccessful
cat was late for landing in Noah's Ark, and Noah, closing a door, casually
clamped her tail. Actually, the reason is not
so amusing. A skeletal mutation - complete
tailless - became a sign of new breed.
Coins for the Isle of Man were minted with the cats.
Man is one of the most unusual and mysterious island in the Irish Sea. The abundance of ancient buildings, unique culture and
beautiful natural landscapes are an integral part of this island nation, fully embodying the culture
and traditions of the British archipelago.
