graphic content• More surfaces for information• Can become a collector’s item• More information such as song lyrics• Fits more content – CDs, posters, booklets etc.• Better for the environment• Jewel case – not recyclable. Digipak is

biodegradable and can be recycled• Can have lots of photos of the artist• Can be made to match the artist with images

BRIT AWARDS 2012 DIGIPAK• Aesthetics – Great British theme. Colours used: red, white and

blue (British colours). Picture of the award repeated throughout.• Customer – Male and females ranging from teens – mid 30s.• Ergonomics – Use of a cut away- easier to pull booklet out.

Pockets to hold CDs in place- easy removal.• Environmental Issues – Can be recycled and is biodegradable.• Size – 3 folds including 3 CDs and a booklet.• Function – To inform, promotes the Brit Awards and MasterCard.

Celebrates British music.• Materials and Manufacturing – No plastic used. CDs and

booklets stored in glossy cardboard. Recyclable.

• Aesthetics – Orange and reddish tones covering the majority of the case. Back cover has a pale coloured background with a picture of orange flowers. Flowers consistent through the digipak.

• Customer – • Ergonomics – Cut away used in the middle section to allow

customer to pull booklet out easily.• Environmental Issues – Made of cardboard so is biodegradable and

recyclable. However, the plastic included makes it less eco-friendly.• Size – 2 folds, 2 CDs and 1 booklet.• Function – To inform.• Materials and Manufacturing – Plastic used to hold CDs in place.

writing. Picture of Ricky Gervais on one of the folds.• Customer – Young adults upwards. For those who enjoy comedy.• Ergonomics – Cut away used to help pull the actual digipak out

of the case.• Environmental Issues – made of cardboard; biodegradable and

recyclable.• Size – 2 fold, 3 CDs.• Function – To inform.• Materials and Manufacturing – Plastic used to hold discs in

place.

NIRVANA JEWEL CASE

• Aesthetics – Water theme, naked baby under water with money floating. Sort of dark colour theme consisting of different shades of blue. The plastic gives it a glossy finish.

• Customer – Teens and young adults interested in grunge music.

• Ergonomics – Little plastic tabs inside to hold booklet into place and is easy to pull the booklet out.

• Environmental issues – Plastic, cannot be recycled.• Size – 1 CD, 1 booklet.• Function – To inform.• Materials and Manufacturing – Made of plastic.
