Title:   4/3 and 3/2 NTM redistribution of beam driven current in Hybrid plasmas

Background: The extrapolation of the Hybrid regime to a reactor depends critically on the physics of the 3/2, 4/3 NTM and its interaction with the plasma current. The mechanism for current redistribution has not yet been resolved.

Approach: ref # 122884: a. Reproduce Hybrid regime with co-beams. b. Swap co for counter source rapidly keeping total power constant. c. Identify modulation in q(0) due to change in beam driven current. d. Modulate total power rapidly looking for prompt heat loss on the divertor

or boundary region. e. Add 60 MHz FWs early in discharge to heat beam ions on axis using 3rd

or 4th harmonic: need ~ 4 slowing down times before onset of NTMs. f. Identify change in tail ion signal at the time of crossing of the onset of

NTMs using the new D_alpha detector.
