Direct Object Pronouns

The direct object in a sentence receives the action of the verb.

Nouns used as direct objects are replaced with pronouns.

Singular Plural

Me- me Nos- us

Te- you (familiar)

Os- you familiar & plural

Lo- you formal, him, it (masculine)

Los- you formal & plural, them (masculine)

La- you formal, her, it (feminine)

Las- you formal & plural, them (feminine)

The direct object is placed_________________the conjugated verb. *It can also be attached to an infinitive.

Ex: I give the gift to Juan. = Yo doy el regalo a Juan.

I give it to Juan. = Yo lo doy a Juan.

In this case, the gift is the noun that is being replaced with the pronoun. The gift is having something done to it, making it the direct object.
