So What Do You Do?

Draw a floor plan of your home. Use a blank sheet of paper for each floor. Mark two escape routes from each room. Make sure children understand the drawings. Post a copy of the drawings at eye level in each child’s room. If your home is taller than ground level, plan to use an escape ladder from upper floors. Make sure everyone in your household is familiar with these products and is comfortable using them.

Where to Meet Establish a place to meet in the event of an emergency. Record the locations. Make sure everyone knows them. Where are you......

• If at or near the home, then maybe at the telephone pole in front of the next door neighbor's house. • If not at home or outside the immediate area, then maybe at a designated neighborhood grocery store or shopping center parking lot.

More Points….

“A Team of Teams – With One Mission: Protecting our Commonwealth”

1. Have a designated point of contact out of state to coordinate information from separated family members.

2. Have a kit with essential items ready for quick deployment. a. If you can safely escape your home and get your kit,

do so. b. Never risk you life to try and get your kit. c. The kit should be easily mobile d. The kit should be light enough that most family

members can move it without assistance.
