DITWRX/FXT FLEXFUEL KIT– INSTALL GUIDE

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the Install Guide for Visconti Tuning’s DIT/FXT FlexFuel Kit. Your FlexFuel Kit should contain all of the parts shown in the picture. Because you’re working with fuel lines near the exhaust system installation is best done when the car is cold. .

KIT CONTENTS

grommet

TOOLS REQUIRED FOR INSTALL

STEP 1 – REMOVE PLASTIC COVER FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT

Move the cover out of the way by taping it up or removing it completely.

STEP 2 – REMOVE FACTORY FUEL LINE

Warning – There is pressure in this fuel line. (Shop Rag / Towel required!)

Warning – Be sure to let the car cool off before installing this kit.

Using a flathead screw driver unlock the quick connect fittings on both ends of the fuel line.

STEP 3 – INSTALL NEW FUEL LINE AND ETHANOL SENSOR

Connect the straight fuel line to the line on the firewall (Metal fitting towards firewall)

Connect the ethanol content sensor as pictured

Connect the remaining fuel line to the sensor and fuel line at the motor (Metal fitting towards motor)

STEP 4 – RUN THE WIRING HARNESS

Connect our wiring harness to the ethanol content sensor and position the harness so the green connector is towards the front of the car. Carefully run the end with the black connector around the master cylinder.

STEP 5 – REMOVE FIREWALL GROMMET

Using a flat head screw driver carefully remove the grommet from the firewall

STEP 6 – RUN THE HARNESS THROUGH THE FIREWALL

This is how the harness should look after running it through the firewall.

After removing the rubber grommet you’ll notice there is yellow padding block most of the hole. When you run the wire you need to push it UP to go around the padding. This step is much easier to do with someone in the car pulling the wire as you feed.

STEP 7 – SECURING HARNESS IN THE ENGINE BAY

Secure the harness by locking it in under the fuel and EVAP line

Zip tie the harness to the AVCS harness that’s fixed to the motor.

You’ll secure the rest of the harness when you are under the car

STEP 8 – CONNECT THE HARNESS RING TERMINAL TO FRAME

This part of the installation can easily be done on the ground if you own an FXT, the WRX will require a floor jack and jack stand or lift.

Please note you only need to remove the driver side plastics.

Connect our flex fuel harness ring terminal to the frame

STEP 9 – CONNECT HARNESS TO REAR 02 SENSOR WIRE

The rear o2 sensor is the green connector.

Unplug the rear o2 sensor plug in our flex fuel harness

Secure the factory rear o2 sensor plug so it does not melt

STEP 10 – SECURE HARNESS INSIDE THE CAR

The harness comes in through the firewall just above the gas pedal.

When running the wire to the passenger side of the car be 100% sure the wire is clear from all pedals and will not rub on anything.

Pass the wire through to the passenger side of the car.

We recommend that you mount the ECA-2 under the passenger side of the dash so if you need to inspect or check the unit you have easy access.

Make sure you keep all wires up and away so feet cannot touch!
