A fter about three weeks of heav y rain I thought that the water would be dirty. Howev er, apart from the top three metres, the v isibility was amazing. Went off W point and out on the wall itwas about 15 m. Back near SHC it was at least 20 m, as good as I hav e ev er seen! Tide was running out and it was quite strong on the wall. F ound one sea horse but John saw two. Thethird one is missing. Lots of sand mov ed by the big seas, deeper in spots and shallower elsewhere. O ne RIF and one upsidedown pipefish. No PPH. V ery nice dive, especially consideringwhat I was expecting. V isibility v ery good.

C lub night div e. Went off W point and to wall. Much dirtier than Tuesday, v iz only 7 m at best. I had plenty of problems w ith my mask, it kept fogging up no matter how many times Icleaned it, v ery annoy ing. Found 1 RIF on wall, 3 on RIF Reef, another before SHR and one more after that, making 6 in all, a record I think. A huge bullray near cav e, quite a few squid atthe start of the div e. Very av erage div e considering the v iz and my mask problems. V isibility poor.

Went out on Peter F ield's boat. S light current from N, could see w reck at 42 m from 28 m. Went to bow and then back to stern. Lots of seapike and y ellow tail ov er the w reck. A smallwobbegong and a few moray eels. N ice dive. V isibility v ery good.

A dive to check out one of Scott Whalan's w reck possibilities. This was about half way from N end of Shark Island to Neilsen Park. It was a concrete block about 2.5 m square and perhaps1.5 m high. O n one side was a steel arm ly ing on bottom and on top coils of electrical cable. Some cable ran off ov er sand in loops. V isibility fair.

Another div e to check out one of Scott's targets. This was probably a boat, but it was right near a moored y acht. I went down the mooring line but v iz on bottom was about 1 m. C ould notsee a thing dispite a search pattern in front of the mooring. V isibility v ery shithouse.

A bit of swell but long and rolling. A medium current from N all the way to the bottom. A nchored near prop. Ray took a long time to come down so only ended up div ing to the front of theboiler. A couple of large wobbegongs, lots of nanny gai and a blue morwong. Showed Ray the tools. Not the best div e here but a lot nicer than some others. V isibility fair.
