Getting Ready for your Review Meeting
1What is a
review meeting?
A yearly progress update
A 45-minute meeting where the LPDC verifies (approves) and adds up your CEUs (hours spent on professional development) since your last meeting and to date.
1When is a
review meeting?
Reviews are done during regular LPDC committee meetings.
You sign up for a meeting between September and April.
Usually meetings are on Thursdays, 4:00-4:45
1Do I need a
review meeting
every year?
Yes, unless...
-You’re in Montessori Training
- You finished all your CEUs early
- Other special circumstances
2How to
get ready?
Start early!
We must have your paperwork 2 weeks before your meeting.
Put all your prepared documentation in the LPDC basket by the requested date.
(You can put your whole Teacher Excellence binder in the basket.)
2How to
get ready? LPDC will give you a reminder. The date is also found on the LPDC
intranet page. https://sites.google.com/a/wsmctoledo.org/intranet/lpdc
2How to
get ready?
What if you aren’t ready ?
Reschedule on a different meeting date.
LPDC meetings can fill up early. We have time for 4 reviews per meeting.
Choose a month with an empty slot.
Or, if you sign up for a month that is full, you’ll be on standby in case someone else cancels.
2How to
get ready?
We review your paperwork before the meeting
If everything is correct, complete and clear, you probably won’t need to attend the meeting.
We will approve your CEUs without you physically being there.
2How to
get ready?
We review your paperwork before the meeting
If something is in question, we will return your paperwork to you, asking for revision.
You bring the revised paperwork to your review meeting.
In years 1-4, a Review Meeting is complete when …
•Your CEUs since your last review meeting are added up and validated.
You will also know your running CEU total so you’ll know if you’re on track.
For non-licensed teachers in Year 5, a Review Meeting is complete when…
•Your CEUs to date are added up and validated. •You have completed your required CEUs for the 5-year plan.•You have a new plan on file for the next 5 years
If you are renewing your license, your Review Meeting is complete when …
•18 CEUs have been validated•You have a new plan on file for the next 5-year period•LPDC gives you a completed form for license renewal
Next we will talk about how to document your activities.
The main way to be ready for a review meeting is to have your activities documented correctly.

3For 2013 plans, there are two types of log sheet.
Green
Yellow
Green is for PD activities supporting a goal you wrote.
The goal is on the other side of the page.
Yellow is for PD you didn’t plan, like in-services or random Professional Development opportunities.
You can count UNLIMITED in-service hours +plus up to 20 hours (2 CEUs) of non-goal related “random” PD activities.
3For plans written before 2013, we have one log form.
On older plans you need to tell which goal an activity supports…
…and what category of activity it is (ABCD/1234)
Remember on older plans there are limits on hours for some activities. See your handbook.
