Imagery:- The main image is
placed on the left page of the
double page spread which is ideal
as this is where the audience’s eyes
first look at, the primary optical
area. There is a secondary image
situated in the weak fallow area and
both images have a slight filter
placed upon the original image. The
images displayed create an
impression of the genre of music
that the band produces which is
rock and the clothing and scenery
within the mise en scene reinforce
this. Also the colours used within
the pictures connote to the genre of
music, black, grey and a hint of red
suggest their music genre.
Design balance/symmetry:- The
page layout is rather symmetrical
and balanced as there is a similar
amount of text paired with a main
image and secondary image. This
creates more of a formal aspect to
the design layout as it seems to
been taken into consideration about
the relationship between both
components. Despite the main
image filling up a whole page, it is
relevant and effective however
there is slightly less text as there
due to spacing on the page. The
balance between images and text is
level and allows easy reading for
the reader, as the pictures allow the
audience to make a connection.
House style:- The use of black bold
text creates a similar impact as the
genre of music that Kasabian
produce, powerful and in-your-face.
It’s bold and is easy to distinguish
what the text says because of the
size and how it stands out against
the plain background. The model
credit and the drop caps is in the
same font allowing the audience to
realise that the article is involving
Kasabian, if not already established.
Black and white is a reoccurring
theme throughout this double page
spread as it is demonstrated
between the blank background and
black text but also within the
secondary image, due to the filter.
