To some, downloading may seem a daunting task, but if you want to listen to your favorite music without lugging around bulky CDs, here are a few basic steps to ease your fears.

Popular programs include iTunes, Napster and Rhapsody.

After selecting the download program, follow the instructions on the screen.

Depending on the site, you may be asked to agree to certain legal terms, provide personal information or complete a series of questions.

USER BEWARE: There are people who may be out phishing to get your personal information. Some programs are more secure than others.
