KEY ELEMENTS OF THE TRIPARTITE FIRST NATIONS HEALTH PLAN

A 10-year health plan with four key elements:

Governance, Relationships, and

Accountability

Health Promotion/Injury and

Disease PreventionHealth Services Performance Tracking

• Design a new governance structure • Seek ratification of this governance structure by the Parties

• Oversee the implementation• Ensure duplication will not occur and a parallel health service delivery structure will not be created

TFNHP Governance Commitment

Role of Province and Health Authorities• Governance and service delivery partners• Support innovation at the regional and community level

• Reciprocal accountability processes• Explore transfer of Aboriginal Physician Advisor position to First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), and evolution to that of a First Nations Provincial Health Officer
