JOURNEY OF A MIGRANT FROM SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA TO EUROPE.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW?According to a report by the International

Organization for Migration (IOM), there are about 214 million migrants in the world today.

This makes up 3% of the world’s population

The movement of this 3% of the world’s population according to the report: ‘is now an essential, inevitable and potentially beneficial component of the economic and social life of every country and region’.

Migration has been part of human nature.

The 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights affirms that everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the border of each state and to leave any country including his own and return to his country.’

Africa is the continent that matter most to the EU migration policy makers.
