it a little!
IT ALL STARTED WHEN I SAW THIS NEWS STORY THAT SAID THAT OVER 2/3 OF ALL AMERICANS WERE
OVERWEIGHT OR OBESE.
Whoooooaaaaaaaaahhhhh!
So I changed my diet………
…and began exercising every day.
And the next thing I knew, I went from being

What is weight control?
Actually, WEIGHT CONTROL is the ability to keep your weight within a HEALTHY range.
If you weigh TOO MUCH or TOO LITTLE, medical problems and diseases will occur.
HOW TO WEIGH YOURSELF CORRECTLYl
I can't believe I was doing it
wrong all these years!
Now THIS IS WEIGHT CONTROL !!!!
What is a “healthy weight” for me?Check the BODY MASS INDEX chart to see if
you are at a healthy weight. This chart measures your weight against your height, and is used in most doctors offices.
Healthy Weight = BMI 19-25Overweight = BMI 26-29Obese = BMI 30-39Morbid Obesity = BMI 40 and up
BMI CHART
WAIST MEASUREMENTAnother easy way to check to see if
you are at a healthy weight is to use a tape to measure your waist!
Place one end of the tape over your belly button and wrap around your waist.
WAIST MEASUREMENT
A man’s waist should be = 40 inches or less.
A woman’s waist should be = 35 inches or less.EXTRA INCHES ARE DUE TO AN
UNHEALTHY WEIGHT!

UNDERSTANDING OBESITY
The number of overweight and obeseAmericans has continued to increase since 1960…… a trend that is not slowing down!
UNDERSTANDING OBESITY
DEFINITION of OBESITY
According to the basic laws of nature, our bodies need
ENERGY to stay alive and function properly.
We can only obtain this ENERGY from thefoods we eat.
UNDERSTANDING OBESITY
If we eat more energy then we need, the excess energy will be stored as FAT!
UNDERSTANDING OBESITY
Therefore, "OBESITY" is the medical definition for excess body fat.
UNDERSTANDING OBESITY
This excess body fat is the result of an energy imbalance over a long period of
time.
UNDERSTANDING OBESITY
This imbalance is due to a problem with our metabolism. Problems with
metabolism can result in added pounds.
UNDERSTANDING OBESITY
When these extra pounds add up to 30 – then you are diagnosed as being “clinically obese!”
Obesity = 30lbs. OVER your "normal" weight.
