Changes matter

Melting :

It is the process of changing solid to liquid by heating.

Evaporation

It is the process of changing liquid to vapour by heating

Condensation

It is the process of changing vapour to liquid by cooling .

Freezing

It is the process of changing liquid to solid by cooling.

Sublimation

It is the process of changing solid to gas by heating.

What do u think which process will be reversible and which will be irreversible?

Reversible:

Melting.Evaporation.Condensation.Freezing.

Irreversible

Sublimation

What do u think this change in state called?

Physical change :Why?

-Change in the form of an object without changing what type of matter it is.-Change in the shape.

Melting point

Temperature at which substance melts. oExample : Pure water melts at 0 C.

Boiling point

Temperature at which substance boils. oExample: Pure water melts at 100 C.

Freezing point

Temperature at which substance freezes. oExample : Pure water freezes at 0 C.
