Why PWD Connect to the DOC?

treatments, etc

• Advocate for diabetes causes, issues and concerns

Research Conclusions*

• The DOC is used as an adjunct to regular diabetes care.

• DOC engagement is associated with better glycemic control.

• The majority of DOC users reported they had been helped

with little harm reported.

• DOC users had high diabetes self-care and Health Related

QOL scores.

• DOC users used the DOC to increase knowledge to improve

self-care and for emotional support.

• Share your personality, vantage point – but not “TMI”

• Create a conversation

• Post photos and videos

• Be real, add value and have fun!
