SOUPER BOWL Annual Canned Food Collection
The annual Souper Bowl got under
way last week and at the end of the
1st week things are close so
far. The 10:30 A.M. service brought
in 298 items while the 9:00 A.M.
service was close behind with 270. We still are a long way from our
goal of 12,000 items so keep working hard to bring in as many non-
perishable food items as possible to help fight hunger in the city of
Chester through CityTeam Ministries. While they are thankful for
anything, they especially are looking for protein items like tuna fish,
peanut butter and items of that nature. As we learned in the
presentation last week, there are a lot of things your can of soup could
be doing but helping to fight hunger in Chester might be the best thing
it could do! :)

We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.
—Martin Luther King Jr.

Our ministry philosophy is found in two great texts in the Bible, known as the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-39) and the
Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).
Matthew 22:37-39
“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Matthew 28:19-20
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Our Philosophy of Ministry
Mark 16:9-20; Acts 3:1-16; 10:9-46
PRAY WITHOUT CEASING
The more we pray, the more we shall want to pray. The more we
pray, the more we can pray. The more we pray, the more we shall
pray. He who prays little will pray less, but he who prays much will
pray more. And he who prays more will desire to pray more
abundantly.
—C.H. Spurgeon
