1. INTRODUCTION

Electrically conductive concrete is an emerging concrete technology.

Conductivity is property of concrete.

Multifunctional material.

Electrically conductive concrete is produced by adding electrically conductive components.

2. ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE CONCRETE

Properties vary with the components.

Cement based composition.

Controlling environmental pollution.

Cost controlling. 1.For electrically conductive concrete. About $250 per snow storm. 2.Fixed Automated Spray Systems. Initial cost of about $600,000.

3. LITERATURE REVIEW Conductive property is the first property.

Resistivity defining its second property.

High conductivity, keeping resistivity as low as possible.

Mechanical strength and durability.

Behaves as a conductor.

3.1 TECHNOLOGY Conventional mixing

techniques.

Aggregates can be largely replaced by carbon or steel fibers.

Achieve conductivity in concrete.

Make a continuous network of conducting path.

Epoxy Coating .

5. APPLICATIONS 3.5.1. Electrical Grounding.

1. lightning.

3.5.2 De-Icing.

1. Roadways.

2. Runways.

6. BENEFITS

Excellent mechanical and electrical conductivity properties.

Environmental pollution.

No electric shock hazard.

Economical.

7. CASE STUDY “The Roca Spur Bridge”

150-ft long and 36-ft wide

Three-span Highway Bridge , Roca near U.S. Route 77 South.

Consists of a 115-ft by 28-ft, 4-in thick ECC.

Performance has been satisfactory and consistent for the past five years.

8. CONCLUSION High carbon content.

Reduce the problem of de-icing.

Preventing flight delays.

Preventing steel structures .
