History

• The official date of the United States is July 4, 1776. New York was the capital for one year before the government transfer to Philadelphia in 1800. After this, moved to Washington DC, District of Columbia. The war against England, which ended in a draw, served to strengthen American nationalism. Between 1958 and 1975, the U.S. participated in a war against Vietnam and lost.

julho de 1776.• A cidade New York foi a capital durante um

ano , antes do governo tranferir-se para a Filadélfia. Em 1800 o governo federal modou-se para Washington DC, Distrito de Colúmbia.

• A guerra contra a Inglaterra , que acabou em empatada , serviu para reforçar o nacionalismo americano.

the central region of North America, as possessing land borders with Canada and Mexico, with the rest of the country borders on the Pacific Ocean, the Bering Sea, the Arctic Ocean the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.

Climate:• East: In the Eastern, the United States have the temperate

continental climate.

Southeast: The Southeast's climate is subtropical.

Center and Rockies: In these two regions the climate is mountain.

Southwest: In the Southwest, tropical arid climate prevails.

West Coast: In this área, the incidence of Mediteranean climate occurs.

Northwest: Cold arid climate prevails.

Alasca: In Alaska, the climate is Polar.

Clima:• Leste: Na região leste dos Estados Unidos está presente o clima

temperado continental.

• Sudeste: Na região sudeste o clima predominante é o subtropical.

• Centro e Montanhas Rochosas: Nestas duas regiões o clima é de montanha.

• Sudoeste: No sudoeste prevalece o clima árido tropical.

• Costa Oeste: Nesta área litorrânea ocidental ocorre a incidência do clima mediterrâneo.

• Noroeste: Prevalece o clima árido frio.

• Alasca: No estado Alasca o clima é Polar.
