Exciting times in Combustion Research for two reasons:

1.Price of Fuel Steadily Increasing ?

2.“Global Warming” Legislation Increasing

As a consequence of either topic above, there is

renewed effort for increased engine efficiency

(use less money and generate less CO2 ) and a

search for alternative “ renewable” fuels.

There is also new money for new (and old) ideas.

KAUST is in West Saudi Arabiathe oil in in the East

Enhance Oil Recovery: EOR.

Inject 6 tons of CO2 to stimulate “production ” of 1 ton of Oil

Each ton of oil is now carbon negative
